  • The person: description of the dependent older person and their specific characteristics (diet, autonomy…).
  • The mouth: its functions (eating, social) and how it is experienced (care).
  • Ageing: description of physical and psychological/cognitive ageing.
  • Preservation: care throughout life, prevention and screening.
  • Brushing teeth: how to brush teeth effectively.
  • Screening: daily care, clinical examinations, chewing ability, condition of the teeth.
  • Loss of function: tooth loss caused by a lack of hygiene and care.
  • The food bolus: explanation of the digestive process.
  • Saliva: characteristics and importance of saliva.
  • Sleep: sleep disturbance caused by poor oral health.
  • Dental plaque: associated systemic diseases.
  • Examples of neglected mouths.
  • Dental follow-up: why regular, high-quality dental follow-up matters.
  • Chewing: why and how to maintain it.
