- The mouth: its functions (eating, social) and how it is experienced (care).
- Ageing: description of physical and psychological/cognitive ageing.
- Preservation: care throughout life, prevention and screening.
- Brushing teeth: how to brush teeth effectively.
- Screening: daily care, clinical examinations, chewing ability, condition of the teeth.
- Loss of function: tooth loss caused by a lack of hygiene and care.
- The food bolus: explanation of the digestive process.
- Saliva: characteristics and importance of saliva.
- Sleep: sleep disturbance caused by poor oral health.
- Dental plaque: associated systemic diseases.
