Death, far from being a rare experience, also occurs in companies. The workplace plays a decisive role in supporting grief, since the work environment represents a large part of people's social lives. Companies are therefore advised to address grief as a likely event and to plan ahead for the return of bereaved employees, or for supporting staff when a colleague dies.
What does the company put in place when someone dies? How can grieving colleagues be supported? More than knowing what to say to bereaved people, it is a matter of reflecting collectively on what can be done for them. This course aims to encourage discussion of the grief situations experienced in companies. It invites management, HR departments and managers to reflect, and offers several recommendations for thinking about and anticipating support for bereaved staff within their company.
